AccuWeather has published their wildfire forecast for 2025.   I wanted to review some of that information with you and some things you can do to help prepare your home for the summer.

 

AccuWeather estimates that there will be 60,000 to 75,000 wildfires this year.  The estimated area that will burn is between 7,000,000 and 9,000,000 acres.

 

To put that into context, 9,000,000 acres is roughly the size of the states of Maryland and Rhode Island combined. Much of both OR and WA will be in areas where there is a very high risk due to drought conditions, particularly the eastern parts of the states.
